My husband and I have dreamed about going on a Disney Cruise for most of our marriage. We have scanned the websites, and knew the ships like the back of our hand. For our family, a Disney Cruise would be the Ultimate Family Vacation. Thanks to Disney Social Media Moms Conference, we were finally going to sail on one!
Today was my youngest birthday and he was turning 4. He fully believed this cruise just for his birthday.
We kicked the day off with another amazing breakfast buffet from the team at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and awesome character meets.
We checked out of the resort and headed for the buses transporting us to the Disney Cruise’s port. It took us about an hour to get there. We went through customs and waited for boarding in the terminal. The excitement and anticipation was overwhelming.
After going through the check-in process, each family was announced as they boarded the Disney Dream. I couldn’t stop taking pictures and we were all just amazed by the beauty of this ship. We couldn’t wait to explore.
By the time we boarded, it was lunchtime. We were super hungry so we headed to the nearest restaurant for lunch while we waited for our luggage to be taken to our room.
We arrived at the Enchanted Garden for lunch, and it was just that. It was simply beautiful, and the food was just a preview of the amazing meals we would have over the next few days.
While walking into the restaurant, my sons even noticed the pictures were animated as you walk by them. It was magic all around us!
We had the whole afternoon to explore the ship, and we headed to check out the kid’s areas. Disney does such an amazing job with all of the play areas. There are multiple options for every age range. My kids were constantly wanting to go back. This was totally fine with me and my husband. We ended up getting lots of alone time…just the two of us! These are just a few of the kid’s decks.
We went to peek at our rooms and were amazed by the overall convenience and all of Disney’s personal touches on the room. We had a beautiful suite and a balcony. Every night we would find some kind of surprise on our beds from the Disney Social Mom’s team or Disney’s cruise line. Every evening, our room would be transformed into a comfortable suite with 3 extra beds that were usually tucked away during the day.
After settling into the room, I headed to a Welcome Aboard Reception while my family continued to tour the ship. I was able to connect and chat with other bloggers while we enjoyed amazing appetizers and toasted to the trip ahead of us. Disney characters welcomed us aboard the ship and there was even a little dance party.

After having some fun with the ladies, I went to meet my family for the rest of the evening and enjoy the Sail Away Party on the deck. This live event was full of music, dancing and lots of fun. Our family knew we were about to have the time of our lives.

Our kids went to the kids club areas, and the hubby and I got some enjoyable alone time to relax on the ship before dinner. At dinner, our table’s dinner cast sang to my little guy for his birthday. We had an insanely delicious meal! Little did we know, we would feel that way about every meal on this ship.
After dinner, there was a show in the theater at 8pm to see the amazing production…The Golden Mickey’s. My little guy couldn’t hang after such a full day, but my older boys absolutely loved the show. We were on our way to Nassau, Bahamas and couldn’t be more excited.

You just made my Disney cruise desires that much stronger! My husband and I looooove Disney, but we’ve never been on a DCL. I always say that’s the first cruise I want to take when we have a family of our own. Looks so magical and comfortable! I’m amazed by the size of the stateroom for a family of 5! So nice!! Looks like you all had a great time! 🙂
