For the last 4 years or so I’ve struggled with anxiety and have taken some steps to get it under control that have made a difference in my life and I hope they can for you too. I realize this is a common issue for so many of us and I wanted to share what’s worked for me.
I should mention that I used to be on Lexapro but no longer felt that I needed a daily medication. However, it was incredibly helpful to me. If you struggle with high anxiety and natural methods aren’t cutting it, please talk to your doctor about medication. I used to be against it, but the more I learned I think it is one of the best things someone can do for themselves and it can help you enjoy and create the life you truly desire.
Here’s what made a difference for me:
Therapy has been one of the most powerful things I’ve ever invested in. I’ve learned so much about myself, healed from various traumas, learned better coping methods, set up healthier boundaries with others, managed my anxiety and depression symptoms and it has empowered me to love myself like never before. If you have never tried therapy, please go! It can truly be life changing. We all have trauma and toxic patterns and getting a hold of those is strongly connected to managing anxiety.
Exercise 3 times a week
It’s not a lot but its enough to stay consistent. Sometimes I feel like huge goals are impossible to stick with and for me, going to the gym or walking every other day M-F is not just helpful to my body but most importantly my mental health. It starts my day off positively and there are so many scientific connections to moving your body and how your brain will process hard and challenging times that it can make a real impact.
Exercise has now become something I do for my mental health over weight loss and it has made a big difference in my anxiety.
Supplements & Equillibria
I started to look up natural supplements that help with mood overall and magnesium and fish oil are at the top of the list. If you struggle with sleep, take a magnesium pill before bed and you’ll notice a change! It is subtle, but very helpful.
When I got off Lexapro, I also started taking Equillibria for Women. It is a premium, organic CBD capsule that works the best when taken daily. There are a lot of brands out there but all are not created equal and this one has done wonders for me. I take the daily capsules that are a slow-release product for long-lasting effects, and perfect for all day balance. They also have the daily drops for those who just need a quick calm down in the midst of anxiety.
These products are no where as strong as medication but truly just take the edge off of daily anxiety and put me in a better place through the day. These products also really aid in just sleeping better as a whole.
I have been able to even get you a code to save : JEHAVA will get you 15% off!
Lastly, I know everyone here might not be a person of faith but prayer has been life changing for calming me down in the moment, helping me trust in a bigger purpose than what I might be concerned with and just giving me overall peace. If you ever feel like you want to learn more about this or have someone pray with you or for you, feel free to email me or reach out to me on Instagram.
