Our family’s cure for the “winter blues”

We love taking vacations as a family.  It is a priority of my husband and I to make amazing memories together every year with our children.  We just got back from a weekend at the amazing Kalahari Resorts in the Poconos.  This was only a few hours from our home, but we would of traveled all day for this amazing experience.

This place was massive.  It included shops, restaurants, a spa, markets, a mind-blowing water park and amazing rooms.

The crazy part is they are expanding and adding even more to the water park, facilities, arcade, restaurants and more!  When you first walk in, you feel like you are entering a special “experience” and an “oasis.”

The decor, restaurants, and shops had my kids so super excited for what was to come and to be honest… my husband and I felt like little kids as well!

We have been to water parks before, but this one exceeded every expectation.  We have 11,9, and 2 year olds so it’s hard to find something that will entertain them all.  However, there were so many large areas for every age range that it was impossible for them to get bored.

Kalahari also had this incredible arcade.  The kids could of spent forever there.  There were so many games and options.  The cards for tokens were cheap, and the kids won prizes from all the tickets they received.

The rooms were perfect for our family of 5.  They were beautiful with 2 beds and a couch bed.  This year they will be adding even more suites.  Throughout the resort there were a variety of African animal sculptures and decor that literally made us feel like we were on some distant island.

The food options were plentiful as well, and they are adding more!  The menus at each place had a lot of variety and were reasonably priced for any budget.  We even went to the ice cream shop for a special treat when the day was finished.

This get away was the best cure for our winter blues.  It refreshed us all before returning to our regular schedules.  We made amazing memories and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
