Fall is here and we love everything about it.  The change of temperatures and the beautiful trees. Our family loves to visit pumpkin patches, visit corn mazes and eat some good comfort food.  Something about this time of year makes me want salty, sweet and savory food combinations. My kids love my fried chicken and they love waffles so, this is a favorite in our home.
Chicken & Waffles is one of my favorite things to order at restaurants.  It never disappoints.  I always try to recreate my favorite dishes at home and make it a little more kid-friendly.  So, we made our own version of Chicken & Waffles and it was so delicious.
I love teaching my older boys to cook.  I want them to learn to be self-sufficient and to be a help to their wives.  They love spending time with me and getting their hands dirty so, this recipe was great for them to get involved in.
We easily made our own fried tenders and paired it with Kellogg’s® Eggo ® Mickey Mouse Homestyle Waffles.  These fun shaped waffles made them super excited about eating this recipe and added a fun twist.
Delicious News! Eggo waffles and pancakes now have no artificial flavors and colors from natural sources.  You know this means a lot to me and my family.  We easily found these at our local Walmart.
No matter their age, your kids can jump right in and help with breading the chicken tenders as well as pop the waffles in the toaster.
This recipe is perfect to for kids and for this time of year when I’m all about comfort foods.
The recipe below is for the fried chicken tenders.  Place them on top of your Eggo waffles and top with some syrup! Enjoy!
