5 Easy Chores for Young Children

*This post is sponsored by Lemi Shine. All opinions are my own.

One of the most popular questions I get asked on a regular basis is to explain the chores I have all of my kids do on a daily basis based on their ages.

Most people want advice on what age to start and what chores their child can do, so today I will focus on my youngest.

He is 6. He started doing some simple chores around 3-4, which mainly only focused on cleaning up toys and putting them in toy bins at night.

So, here is a list of 5 easy chores for young children.

1.Wipe down counters.

This can be in the kitchen or even dusting. Young children love to wipe and clean surfaces and this is a great way for them to help out.

2. Help with the dishes.

We let our 6-year-old help put plastic dishes into the dishwasher (usually not glass haha). Also, he can “play in the water” while rinsing dishes off before loading. He also can help with unloading.

Our favorite products to use in our kitchen are from Lemi Shine. They have everything from detergent to disposal cleaner and dishwasher cleaner. These are great products for little ones to help out in keeping your appliances running well.

We also like that Lemi Shine provides some of the safest options on the market that are free from harsh chemicals and environmentally friendly, so I feel great about him helping me out with these chores.

3.Sort Clothes.

This is great for teaching colors even if you just start with a light and dark pile. The kids love this and even like to throw the clothes in and press start.

4.Vacuum.

This is my kids favorite activity since they were young. We have a cordless lightweight vacuum now too so it’s even easier for him to maneuver.

5. Make the bed.

This is not done perfectly, even at age 6, but starting the basics and letting them neatly try to place blankets and stuffed animals on their bed is a great practice they can never start too early.

I hope this is helpful in giving you some easy ways to get your little one involved, and make sure the next time you’re out at the store you pick up some of Lemi Shine’s amazing products!
