If you are looking for healthy easy recipes this is definitely one that is bursting with flavor. This viral Trader Joe’s Shawarma Bowl is even kid-friendly and so easy to throw together when you are tight on time! Chicken Shawarma isn’t particularly hard to make, but it is easier to grab the pre-seasoned chicken from Trader Joe’s so, if you don’t have one near you just grab a quick recipe like the one HERE and you can still easily make this healthy bowl. Due to having 3 boys, I used 2 packs but 1 would be enough. Also, rice is a cheaper and just as delicious option for the base of the bowls. 

Here’s what you need: 

1 pack of pre-seasoned Chicken Shawarma thighs from Trader Joe’s 

1 cup of couscous 

2 tomatoes; diced

1/2 red onion; diced

4 mini cucumbers; diced

1 scoop of garlic hummus

1 scoop of tzatziki sauce

2 tablespoons of butter

salt and pepper to taste 

feta (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 and bake chicken for 20 minutes. Let it rest and slice into strips.

  1. Make couscous (or rice) according to package directions. 
  2. Dice up your veggies.

  1. Layer bowl with couscous, chicken, veggies and a scoop of hummus and sauce. Top with feta if desired. Enjoy!
