This Broccoli Salad is the best I’ve ever had and so delicious I sometimes eat it as a main course, but it is perfect for all the cookouts and dinners you create this summer. It is full of flavor and so easy to throw together. It is light, healthy and delicious. We even swap out real bacon for turkey bacon just to keep it a little more health conscious.  It’s even kid-friendly and my picker eater gobbles it up.

There is just nothing like a passed down recipe.

My Mom’s Famous Broccoli Salad

Ingredients: 

6 cups of broccoli; chopped

3/4 cup of onion; diced

1/2 cup dried cranberries

4 strips of bacon; chopped

1 cup shredded Colby jack cheese

3 tablespoons of sugar 

2 tablespoons of vinegar 

1.5 cups of mayonnaise 

salt and pepper to taste 

 

Directions: 

  1. Chop up broccoli, onion, cooked bacon and mix in a bowl. 
  2. Add cranberries, sugar, vinegar ,mayo and seasonings. 
  3. Top with cheese. Serve!
