These homemade maple bacon donuts are so easy and so flavorful with a maple glaze and crispy bacon topping.
I have seen donut recipes on the internet and social media for a longest time, but I would never try it out myself. It seemed like way too much work and energy. Also, I was sure I would mess them up or they would end up tasting funny.
So, I found some hacks. Using pre-made biscuit dough was a BIG one! Maple bacon donuts are my favorite by far. The salty and sweet combination is to die for.
My middle son loves to bake, so we tried these out together and were shocked how quick, easy and absolutely delicious these came out. We’ve already made them multiple times!!
The key here is using Pillsbury or any store bought biscuit. Make a whole in the middle and fry! Yep, that it.
We make our bacon separately and then dip each one into a easy homemade maple icing. It’s thin so it adds the perfect amount of flavor without a heaving layer of sweet icing.
Then we sprinkle the donuts with crushed bacon, a little bit of powder sugar and dig in. I make a good amount of these every time, and they are all gone within a few hours.
These maple bacon donuts are a crowd-pleaser and perfect for birthdays, a quick brunch or just because! Enjoy!
