We are so excited to finally see some light at the end of the tunnel, and we are officially getting back to planning some travel for our family in the upcoming months. We love to travel, but we have been waiting to plan our first trip until after the pandemic ends or at least until it gets better.
I want to make sure that my family can travel as safely and responsibly as possible, so as we book our next vacation, here are some things we are doing.
1.Stock up on disposable masks.
We have accumulated lots of masks since the pandemic started but traveling with disposable ones is inexpensive and convenient. We can easily order them to our front door and toss them during our travels. This limits transferring germs and having to wash them while we are away. They are available in adult and kid sizes, so it’s perfect.
2.Look for the Ecolab Science Certified™ seal.
Ecolab is the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services. The Ecolab Science Certified program is helping hotels, restaurants and a variety of businesses deliver higher levels of cleanliness. The program provides science-backed products and protocols to help reduce the risk of exposure to germs at the places you eat, stay and shop.
We’re all working to ensure the places we visit outside the comfort of our own homes are clean and up to the scientific standards we expect now more than ever. It is so important to me during this time when I’m looking for a hotel or restaurant that it is the safest possible option for my family. I feel more confident when I see the Ecolab Science Certified seal.
Through the Ecolab Science Certified program, any business, hotel or restaurant you visit with the seal:
-Includes a suite of science-based programs, protocols and products including hospital disinfectants and food contact sanitizers that are approved for use against COVID-19.
-Requires employees to be trained on current public health and food safety cleaning and disinfecting practices and procedures informed by CDC guidelines.
-Are subject to periodic, independent audits by an Ecolab specialist to verify protocols are being followed and products are being used correctly.
This is so helpful during this time. For more updates on the Ecolab Science Certified program, check out their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. To view a list of some of the businesses that have the Ecolab Science Certified seal, visit sciencecertified.com/partners/
3. Plan to do more outdoors.
We all know it’s safer to be outdoors during this time rather than inside, so plan more outdoor activities than normal. My family loves to be outside so this is pretty easy to sell.
We also look for restaurants with nice outdoor seating. So, take time to research those options, and also keep an eye out for the Ecolab Science Certified seal, which will verify that you are in a place with a higher level of cleanliness, backed by scientific expertise standards.. You can identify grocery stores, restaurants and hotels that are Ecolab Science Certified by looking for the official Ecolab Science Certified seal at the main entrances, giving you the confidence to get back to the things you love – shopping, eating out and traveling.
We are so excited to get back to traveling and these are a few ways we can do that! I hope these simple tips are helpful in planning your next adventure!
