I have been blogging now for about 6 months and I am so surprised how well it has done.  I truly don’t credit myself for any of this success but, believe it’s truly an answer to prayer! I have loved being a stay at home mom and feel so blessed to play that role in my kids life.  However, in the last 3 months or so I have been informed that I am technically a work-at-home mom now that I am consistently bringing in income.

I have constantly talked to other bloggers about balancing all that this blogging gig entails with everything else that needs to be done for their families and homes.  It seems to be a consensus that we are all looking for a magic formula to make it a little easier.  The hard part about working at home is that you are still a “stay at home mom” so, there is no child care.  So, balancing all the work that needs to be done daily for the blog as well as making sure that I’m not slacking at my other responsibilities can be a challenge.

I have learned some tips that have really helped me in these last 6 months, feel more balanced.

First and Foremost..Great Coffee!

I have definitely increased my coffee consumption in these last few months.  It has been so helpful to keep me energized and start my day off right.  I need a really good quality, well-crafted cup of coffee to get me through all that I need to accomplish in 24 hours.  Nescafé® Tasters Choice® is the perfect choice for me.  They have made some awesome upgrades.  One is to a glass jar to lock in the freshness better and showcase the Nescafé® Tasters Choice® granuales.  They also upgraded their stick packs to make an 8 ounce cup of coffee rather than 6 ounces. The more the better.

I have been impressed by how great this coffee is! Instant coffee is perfect for me when being on the run.  However, this simple cup of coffee really helps energize me for the day.

This is so important for work at home mom’s to have a great cup of coffee that doesn’t take much time to make.  With 3 boys and my amazing husband to take care of,  I am always on the go and I need great coffee that I can keep me throughout the day!

“Me” time is a must

Women are truly superheros.  We can multitask just about anything and can go an entire day without sitting down.  I’ve realized though that this isn’t always a good thing.  I am not as productive or effective at all of my “roles” when I don’t take time to regroup and refresh.   I usually do this during my toddler’s nap time.  I do usually use that time to work but, I have been trying to keep a schedule of giving myself a break a few times a week.

I eat lunch in peace while watching my favorite show.

I read a book and enjoy a cup of coffee.

I take a much-needed nap.

Text or call a friend to catch up.

Give yourself a break everyday and you will feel more balanced and productive during your day.

Make a daily list

I am the queen of lists.  They help me in every area of my life.  For some reason putting it on paper rather than keeping it in my mind, releases loads of stress.  I make a list first thing in the morning, while I am drinking my coffee for the day.  I cross things off as I go.  It keeps me focused on the tasks that need accomplished that day.  I add everything on my lists: grocery shopping, laundry, homework time with the kids or what needs done for the blog.

You won’t believe it, but I do not drink coffee!! I have 5 kids and work 3 jobs but somehow I never have had any! My hubby drinks at least 3-4 cups a day, so I guess he takes care of our coffee allotment.

Coffee is an absolute MUST for me! Before I had my son, I drank about a pot of coffee (12 full cups) a day!) I’m down to about 3 a day now, though. I prefer dark brews, like Folger’s Black Silk or Gourmet Supreme medium-dark. They’re delicious!
