Last week we were in California to visit my parents and celebrate my dad’s amazing accomplishment as the President of Fresno Pacific College. To say I’m proud would be a major understatement.
Since we were little, my dad has said with great confidence that God called him to be the president of a Christian College. He started in lower positions and worked up gradually. We moved every 4 years due to promotions. He worked full-time jobs, was involved in church, gained degree after degree, and was still an amazing husband and father. Seriously, I barely even remember my dad being absent. He was the most loving and present father to my sister and I, while striving to be what God called him to be.
He has been a living example that “All things are possible with God”, and that was the theme of his inauguration. He has constantly reminded us that no matter what man says or what obstacles you may face, if it’s God’s will and you trust in Him, you can do anything.
He has faced so many obstacles and opposition, but God had the final say, and we are so grateful to watch his faith lived out, and for God’s constant faithfulness in all of our lives.
Ok, I’ll stop there for now. LOL I’m kinda a big fan of my dad and could write a book about this and what it means to our family.
So, my sister and I took our families out to Fresno, CA along with many friends and family members to celebrate all God has done.
The beauty was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. There are just some moments in your life when you are in total awe of God’s creation, and this was one.
We got to even check out the largest tree on Earth.
We spent most of our days relaxing and connecting as a family while the kids ran around the beautiful property that my parents now call home. They were all in heaven and had the time of their lives.
For those that don’t know, my middle son is obsessed with animals, and reads the animal encyclopedia for fun so he was super excited to check out the local zoo. They just did some renovations so it was a really nice experience. The kids even fed the giraffes!
This trip was such a great reminder for me to keep my eyes on Jesus and to not let the world discourage my dreams. This blog has only had this kind of success due to God’s favor, and nothing else.
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to speak into your lives, and that you visit my little space on the internet regularly.
The world, the news, and negative people can really get you down and make you second guess your dreams. However, I’m reminded that if you give your dreams to God and you trust in Him, He can truly blow your mind. So, if you feel like He is laying something on your heart… go for it! When Jesus says “Yes”, nobody can say “NO”!!
Thanks so much for reading, friends!!

How beautiful! Being the daughter and granddaughter of pastors/men of faith, I love to read about others. I know that I fangirl for both of them, and it’s amazing what an impact your father has made on you and others.
