Running errands with a toddler can be exhausting and stressful to say the least. A 15 minute trip can easily turn into an hour. I have learned over the years a few tips that have made my life so much easier.
1. Bring FOOD!!
This is truly my first and most important tip: bring snacks along! My toddler loves the new TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks. They happen to be the cutest snack ever. Right now you can even get cash back with the Ibotta app (my favorite way to save money as many of you know) with the purchase of TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks at Walmart.
Bringing food along has been a game changer for us. I bring easy to pack snacks that I can just throw into our bag and get out the door quickly. Whenever he turns fussy, snacks tend to calm him right down.
I love the new TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks. The biggest seller for me is that they have no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors and no artificial colors. They are made with quality ingredients like milk, eggs and chocolate.
These are my new saving grace from toddler meltdowns. My son loves this loveable bear shaped snack. He really thinks that they are so fun to eat.
I think he wanted to play with the TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks more than eat them at first. However, once he tasted them, there was no going back. I love to give my children snacks like this that provide some entertainment too.
I easily found this product at my local Walmart in the cookie/cracker aisle. There is a demo on 2/23 as well where Teddy Grahams partnered with GoGo Squeeze and the PRD Display.
2. Let them help.
Give them tasks to do. Let them help you put stuff in the cart. Many times I find that my toddler fusses because he’s bored and is done with the store. He wants to be active and do something. When he feels included he is less likely to cry. He helps me put stuff up on the check out belt, and even slide my card.
3. Go during prime time.
Figure out what is the best time of day that your child is easiest to manage and go then! For many toddlers it’s the morning hours before lunchtime. For us, this is around 9-11am. I don’t have more energy than the any other mom first thing in the morning but it is worth the peace and quiet from a non-cranky toddler. Definitely avoid meal and nap times.
I hope one of these tips will make the next time you run errands with your toddler so much easier! Don’t forger that you can earn cash back with the free Ibotta app on the purchase of TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks at Walmart!

Funny how we learn how to manage. I try to completely avoid taking my toddler to the store if I can help it.

Tip 1 – leave them at home. Just kidding! I always shop with them and have grown to like it. You’re right about feeding them throughout the shopping experience. That is how we survive too!

LOL!! Right?! I usually can’t do that if I want to get my shopping done during the day!

Your first tip REALLY is the most important! I learned this pretty quickly, the food keeps them from asking for (and snatching at) all the food on the shelves. These Teddy grahams are pretty cool, and being able to identify the ingredients is so important to me. Thanks for sharing, I must be out of the toddler loop because I’ve never seen these…gonna keep my eye out for them now.

YES!! lol they are actually pretty new in the stores! So, you should see them now!

I always forget to bring snacks with me, when I’m taking my little guy out for errands, especially if it’s right after we pick him up from daycare. Food can be a lifesaver!

LOL YES I forget too sometimes!

The only way I survive running errands with a preschooler and a toddler is by bringing snacks and lots of them.

These are all true. I know in the morning before nap time is prime for us. Also, when I go grocery shopping, my oldest always gets a cookie from the bakery (thank you Kroger for the free cookie).

That’s the best when they give you free food at the store.
