Disney Social Media Mom’s Conference Recap- Day 1

I literally freaked out when I received the invitation to attend Disney Social Media Mom’s Conference this year.  I’ve heard about this conference, and read countless posts on it. I couldn’t believe my family and I were invited to attend. All attendees pay for the conference, but it’s a small fraction of the costs to go on a trip of this magnitude.

Disney Social Media Mom’s conference is an invitation-only conference, and is as family friendly as they come. The conference this year consisted of 3 days on land at a Walt Disney World® Resort and 3 days at sea on a Disney Cruise Line®.  We also received 5-day park hopper tickets to all of the Disney Parks and Fast Passes to go along with it. Pretty much…every families dream vacation rolled into one!

Whether you are interested in the conference, or just an up close look at the Disney World Parks and a Disney Cruise, my next few posts will give you a personal, detailed look into everything we did.

Before setting out on our trip, we received personalized Magic Bands for our entire families.  These were our room keys, fast passes and tickets to the park. This made it so easy to get around throughout the day.

We also received the amazing Magical Express service from the airport.  This meant we didn’t have to go to baggage claim at all.  Our bags were picked up for us, and transferred right to our resort room. This service was amazing! Having little children in tow, this made everything less stressful.

We also didn’t have to worry about transportation around Disney Parks and Resorts. Their shuttles took us everywhere we needed to go, and dropped us off at the front gate of each park.

DAY 1

We flew into Orlando International Airport around noon, and easily jumped on Disney’s Magical Express to head to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

Immediately, we were wowed by the beauty of this resort.  It was like a small city. There was truly so much for families to do that you don’t even need to leave the property to have a great time.

We checked in with the team from Disney Social Mom’s and received a bag of goodies to get us started.  We headed to lunch and explored the resort.  All of us were so excited to be in warmer temps with beautiful palm trees everywhere we looked.

We were blessed with 2 connecting rooms. My older boys loved having their own space. The rooms were beautiful and had everything you could possibly need.

That evening, Disney Social Mom’s hosted a welcome reception for influencers only.  This was amazing. I finally was able to meet, in-person, many other influencers that had become my “online friends”.

Right away we were pampered with specialty drinks & snacks to enjoy as we were welcomed by our amazing hosts, Leanne O’Reagan and Mark Daniel.  We were greeted by the president of Walt Disney World Resort, George Kalogridis.  He presented us with exclusive looks into various new worlds that will be added to Disney very soon. From The Incredibles to Star Wars inspired, this place will be even more amazing.

Over-the-top giveaways usually take place throughout the entire conference and they started this immediately.  Someone won a night stay in Cinderella’s castle…that place looked like paradise.

We were then escorted to the Welcome Dinner with our families sponsored by Mini Babybel and it set the tone for how we would be treated over the next 5 days. There were tons of character meets for families to grab pictures, and the meal was just amazing.  There was a full kids buffet and an adult buffet that seemed to be cooked by the best chefs around.  They even had a desert display for the kids as well as an open bar for adults.  There was constant entertainment and excitement everywhere.
