I have eaten horribly this summer.  Way too many french fries and way too little vegetables.  I have definitely started to feel the effects on my body, and I’m focusing on getting back in shape and treating my body better.  I’m also trying to eat/drink more proteinProtein is great for fueling your workout and avoiding that afternoon “crash.”

So, if your trying to do the same.. here are some of my favorite items that we keep in the house and are great sources of protein for a busy lifestyle.

NUTS

I get a big bag of almonds from the store, and snack on them every chance I get.  I am not a huge fan of them alone so, I like to add raisins and put them in little sandwich bags to take along with me through the week.

You can do any kind of nuts and they will be a great source of protein for your body.  Some of my favorites are: walnuts, pecans and pistachios.

CHEESE

I could eat cheese every day, but I have to watch it with some different stomach issues I’ve had as I’ve gotten older.  It seriously is my favorite food.  Cutting up cheese, or grabbing cheese sticks are a great source of protein for your body.

Great Drinks

Dannon® Light & Fit® and Oikos® Nonfat Yogurt Drinks are easy, portable drinks that you can easily grab on the go, and are also a great source of protein.

My kids love these just as much but, these are perfect for my busy schedule.  Whether I am finishing up a work out, running the kids to practice or headed to church, these are a great solution. They have zero fat and a great taste.

Now they come in convenient 4 packs so, you can stock up for the week without running back and forth to the store. I easily picked them up at our local Walmart in the refrigerated isle.

Right now you can even get a $1.00 off with Ibotta when buying the yogurt drinks! I’m all about the savings!

Boiled Eggs

Boiled Eggs are good for you & easy to take along.  I boil a bunch in the beginning of the week and they are easy to grab in a rush for a filling snack or breakfast.

There are many great food and drink options for getting more protein in your diet but, these are some of my favorites.  We are all trying to live our best lives and give our bodies some good fuel along the way.
