I just came out of a week that I was battling some serious fears and anxieties. I desperately needed to hold on to what God’s word says about fear, and focusing on bible verses about fear made all the difference.

Life can be hard at times. We all struggle with different fears, and when I had kids so many new fears surfaced. The imaginations that come with possible scenarios can really be a challenge.

My oldest son just had a major scare with his heart, and we thought he possibly had a serious heart condition that would cause a major life change. When I first heard the news, fear overwhelmed me. I thought about how he won’t be able to play the sports he loved, and how we would get through a heart surgery. I decided not to spend an entire week making myself sick, and worrying all day about what the possible tests would say.

I needed to trust in the God of the universe, and ask Him for His peace. I knew that focusing on specific bible verses would be a big help, but sometimes it’s hard to know exactly where to look in hard times. So, I hope when you feel overwhelmed by fear, you can save this post as a reference.

2. Philippians 4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

9. Romans 8:28

10. John 14: 27

Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.”

It is amazing how when we focus on bible verses about fear we can combat the enemies attacks. He doesn’t want us to live in peace, and trust God, but we can. We have the power through his word to have peace when life seems stressful. I was so grateful that He gave me His peace last week. I was able to enjoy life, see all of His many blessings, and trust that He had it all under control.

After the appointment and tests were all said and done, he is completely healthy! No issues at all! I’m so glad I didn’t waste time in fear, when He had it taken care of all along!

So grateful that God is always with us, no matter the outcome. And equally grateful for a praise report for your son and family. He is able!
